Outline of the Course Aims

The close and systematic study of colour theory and technical issues of materials take up one morning. Another morning there is 'drawing with a brush' using Chinese techniques and photo studies or live studies of animals to achieve form, physical likeness and good brushwork. The rest will be landscape based. When the weather allows, it will be direct study; otherwise from a vast photo library. Students are encouraged to bring their work to the course to help focus on their individual styles and interests.
